PHILOSOPHY

Image
PAY WHAT YOU WANT

Pay to reserve a seat, or you can come along and if there are available seats you can get in for free and pay what you can afford direct to the act after the show.

At least 10% of seats are unreservable and so available for PWYW on the day. We want everyone to see the best comedy at The Fringe.

MAKE IT FAIR FOR THE ARTIST

We do not profiteer on the back of artists. We will take no more than 20% of pre-sold ticket revenue, all "bucket" money taken by acts is their own. Our only upfront costs for the artists is £250 set-up fee, that is it.

We want the best acts to come to Monkey Barrel Comedy, we do this by making sure they can actually make a living from The Fringe.

WE DON'T USE "VOLUNTEERS"

Some of the biggest venues at The Fringe use "volunteers" to keep their costs down. We do not do this. It is a job, and should be paid accordingly.

The use of "volunteers" means only those who can subsidise the experience can work at The Fringe. We beleive everyone should have this opportunity, and be paid for the jobs they do.
